Your face stays the same
The reference take sets the room, the camera and the timing. The face, hair and clothes come from your photo and stay the same in every frame. That is why a sharp, front-facing shot matters more than a fancy background. The model reads your face from the reference image and holds it through the crossed arms and the hip turns. If the photo is blurry or the face is turned away, the render has less to hold on to, so look straight at the lens.
